Review Overview
7.5

With a plethora of wireless audio products on the market, NDO Wireless Earbuds have emerged as a force to be reckoned with, particularly since they offer good performance at a relatively low price. NDO is not yet a household brand in the same way as JBL or Sony. Still, it is gradually gaining recognition due to its intense individualistic feature, elegant style, and the price factor. Sitting in the middle of the price-quality segment, the earbuds are positioned as a daily-use audio solution that provides balanced audio, solid battery life, and noise reduction properties typically found in higher-priced devices. To what degree are the NDO Wireless Earbuds effective in the real world? Do they perform to their potential, or crumble under pressure?

The review is dedicated to anyone who plans to purchase affordable wireless earbuds that strike a balance between value and quality. Whether you are a student, commuter, fitness enthusiast, or remote worker, this deep dive will help you determine if the NDO earbuds are a good fit for your lifestyle. If the counterfeits or the abundance of alternatives in the market intimidate you, this review is a surefire way to narrow the path towards choosing a goal.

In this comprehensive review, we will examine every aspect of the NDO Wireless Earbuds, including design, fit, sound quality, battery life, touch controls, connectivity, and real-life usability. We shall also compare them with Anker P20i in the same price range. And lastly, you will view a list of pros and cons, frequently asked questions, and a final verdict to assist you in making your decision.

Unboxing & First Impressions

Opening the NDO Wireless Earbuds box reveals a sleek, modern design, which has been adopted by many of the more popular tech companies lately. The packaging is plain yet elegant, featuring a matte black finish with silver, shiny text that clearly indicates the brand and its primary features. It’s more of a sleek, functional product, but it aims to cater to people who enjoy reasonably cultured products.

Opening the box, the charging case with the earbuds in it is the first thing you lay your eyes on. The other accessories are neatly included beneath, including a USB-C charging cable, three pairs of soft silicone ear tips (in small, medium, and large sizes), a quick start guide, and warranty papers. It contains excessive products- only what is necessary.

The earbuds are sturdy and well-built when removed from the case. The curved, soft matte plastic is fingerprint-resistant, and they are light enough to be comfortable yet durable. The case that charges has a lid that closes with a magnet and a strong hinge, which is a pleasant surprise on a low-end device.

Generally, the unboxing is quite basic but presentable, as it is neither extravagant nor cheap. It creates a good first impression and makes it appear as though these earbuds deliver more than the amount of money one paid.

Design & Comfort

The NDO Wireless Earbuds find a nice compromise between a modern look and functional design. With their matte finish and smooth contours, they are luxurious-looking and feel much higher-end than they appear. The branding is also very lightweight, and the earbuds are available in traditional colors, such as black or white, which makes them fit any style. Discrete LED indicators provide a functional touch without getting in the way.

The earbuds feature an ergonomic stem-like design to ensure a tight, yet comfortable fit in the ear. The angled nozzles and availability of silicone tip sizes help form a custom seal, isolating noise better and enhancing a more secure fit. The earbuds are comfortable to wear while walking, working, or exercising, and they stay in place without needing to be rearranged. The NDO earbuds excel where it matters in long-term wear comfort. Their ultra lightweight construction (each earbud weighing less than 5 grams) and non-clamping design also ensure they are comfortable, even during long listening sessions.

There is little fatigue even after hours of use, which is not a compelling feature in this price bracket. They are also designed to accommodate active lifestyles just like JBL Beam 2. The earbuds have an IPX7 rating, making them highly resistant to sweat and light water sprays, which makes them a good choice for training at the gym or running in light rain. They are not designed to be totally immersed, but the water resistance is sufficient to endure daily activities. Comprehensively, NDO has achieved the details of comfort and durability without compromising on fashion.

Connectivity & Pairing Experience

Pairing the NDO Wireless Earbuds is very easy and quick, as the earbuds automatically enter pairing mode and begin searching for the device the moment you open the case. On the device with Bluetooth enabled, you’ll see the “NDO Earbuds” appear in its Bluetooth list. To connect with Bluetooth, you will not need any application or manually turn on the earbuds; simply open the charging case, remove the earbuds, connect them, and start enjoying your music.

In these earbuds, you do not get support for multipoint connectivity, so unfortunately, you cannot connect with two devices simultaneously. Additionally, the earbuds remember the last device you were connected to, so you can reconnect and switch to another device. The connectivity system works well, but it’s not quite smooth enough to allow for quick switching between your phone and laptop repeatedly.

The earbuds feature Bluetooth 5.3 technology, which enables them to maintain a steady and strong connection. When tested in real-life scenarios, the earbuds maintained a strong connection within a range of 10 Meters (33 feet). However, you will experience minimal delays with these earbuds when watching videos, allowing you to enjoy your time on YouTube and Netflix easily.

Casual gamers can enjoy these earbuds, but if you are a serious gamer, you might not find them to your liking. All things considered, the NDO Wireless Earbuds are inexpensive, quick to pair, and functional for daily usage.

Sound Quality

In this price range, the NDO Wireless comes with a very detailed and balanced sound profile. In other, more affordable earbuds, the primary focus is on the bass, which can be too heavy and bumpy. However, in these, the sound is very natural and detailed. The audio quality is slightly warmer, but not to the point of overpowering the other sound elements. The vocals in these earbuds are clear, and so are the instrumental sounds. The highs are a little sharp, but not too much to hurt your earbuds. You will enjoy using these earbuds for your day-to-day listening.

The earbuds are well built across various genres of music. Pop and hip-hop songs are all the better on the Linblad, with finger-biting bass and a vibrant midrange that puts the vocals and beats at center stage. Rock and indie music also sound clean and detailed, as guitars and other sounds are well-layered and separated with percussion.

The classical and acoustic music show some shortcomings of the earbuds in terms of dynamic range and micro-detail. However, they are still enjoyable and easy to hear, particularly in the medium-intensity range. The bass is not very deep, so EDM listeners may wish to have a deeper subbass, but it is tight and well-controlled.

The audio quality of the microphone can be serviced in calls and voice records. NDO has also incorporated a dual-mic system into every earbud, effectively reducing background noise, especially in noisier settings such as traffic or crowded environments. In low-noise areas or indoors, voices are heard clearly with no distortion. The mics are reasonably sufficient for use on work calls, Zoom meetings, or casual chats.

The NDO earbuds are characterized by one of the best soundstages and clarity. The offer significantly improves a much soundstage space compared to most other budget offerings. The instruments do not sound congested, and stereo separation is acceptable. You will also be able to discern the left-to-right effect of panning, and layered vocals will not sound congested. The good clarity on the mids and the highs makes it easy and comfortable to listen to podcasts, audiobooks, and voice-centric content.

When cranked up the volume, the earbuds indeed begin to push the boundaries of what they can pull off -the treble gets harsh, and the bass is occasionally muffled with distortion. Nevertheless, the tuning is good and pleasing in the broad spectrum of casual to moderate listening styles.

To concisely conclude, NDO Wireless Earbuds allow you to listen to music with a balanced and pleasant sound, which exceeds their price level. Although the audiophiles might seek more, regular users will not be disappointed by the sound quality offered by those earbuds.

Noise Cancellation & Transparency Mode

The NDO Wireless Earbuds also offer Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which is not very common in this budget segment, so how does it work? In practical applications, the efficiency of ANC is relatively slight but noticeable. It is most effective against consistent, low-frequency background noise, such as air conditioning, engine noise, or distant traffic. It will not soundproof your environment, but it will be able to drown out a demanding amount of noise, increasing the immersion in music or during a call. Sudden or high-pitched sounds (such as people talking near or keyboard clicks) are still audible, which is also to be expected at this price range.

The hearing mode, also known as Ambient or Transparency mode, is one of its useful features that allows sounds from the outside to be heard through the earbuds, so you remain aware of your surroundings. It can be beneficial when walking on the road or having a rushed conversation. Although transparency mode may not sound entirely natural (due to a slight electronic filter on external sound), it can be used safely in everyday use.

In comparison to the competition within this segment, such as SoundPEATS Engine4 or TOZO NC2 Hybrid, or economical models produced by Anker, ANC of NDO does not lag. It is not as potent as premium models like AirPods Pro and Sony WF series, but it is acceptable at the given price. In fact, most low-end earbuds do not have ANC or provide few benefits in case they do, which further benefits NDO. In short, the noise cancellation and ambient mode features of NDO are not new, but they are at least complementary, making the earbuds more travel-friendly.

Battery Life & Charging

For use in your daily routine, the NDO Wireless Earbuds are a perfect pair of earbuds that you should definitely have. If you use these earbuds with the ANC mode turned off, the listening time goes up to 6 hours. In the other scenario, when you use the earbuds with ANC mode turned on, the playback time these earbuds provide is approximately 4.5 to 5 hours. Additionally, the charging case, when fully charged, offers extra hours, increasing the total playback time to 30 hours.

In terms of size, the charging case is small and compact, easily fitting in your pocket, and has the capacity to charge your earbuds four times fully. These earbuds use a USB-C cable to charge, and they cannot be charged wirelessly. However, the most interesting aspect of these earbuds is that they support fast charging. For example, when you are in a hurry and don’t have time to fully charge the earbuds, you can charge them for 10 minutes in the charging case, which provides 1 hour of playback time.

However, the charging case itself requires 1.5 to 2 hours to charge completely. When tested in real-life scenarios, these earbuds truly match the claims made by the company. People reported that they did not feel the need to recharge the earbuds for 2,3 days when they used the earbuds on medium volume along with the ANC. To indicate the remaining charge, a small light is displayed on the charging case.

Controls & Smart Features

NDO Wireless Earbuds feature touch-responsive controls on both earbuds, making them easy to operate and user-friendly. Taps and long presses serve the fundamentals, such as play/pause, track skipping, answering and ending calls, and switching between ANC and transparency modes. The touch response is minimal when operated, but those with larger fingers may find the touch area too small.

Regrettably, no companion app accompanies it yet, so customization is crippled. It cannot be customized to reassign touch controls, create equalizer profiles, or display battery life. This will not be a deal-breaker for everybody, but people who are accustomed to earbuds that come with an app won’t like it.

On the positive side, the earbuds have a built-in voice assistant. A long press activates Google Assistant or Siri on an iOS-based device. Voice recognition is accurate, and responses are clearly audible through the earbuds. Android and iOS users will be supported well, but Alexa is not supported.

Regarding exceptional innovative capabilities, the NDO earbuds have auto-pause when a user removes one of the earbuds, utilizing in-ear detection sensors. However, this is not perfectly designed; stopping is done well, but playing is not resumed automatically when the earbud is slid back into place. Nevertheless, this is a nice option to have for convenient, on-the-go use. There are no wearables, no fancy innovative capabilities, such as head tracking or spatial audio, and that is fine. The NDO Wireless Earbuds offer affordable yet functional innovative features that make using them as easy as possible at this price point.

Durability & Everyday Use

The NDO Wireless Earbuds are remarkably comfortable to wear in the ear, despite their cost-effective appearance. The matte plastic body is resistant to scratches and fingerprints, and the earbuds themselves feature a durable, compact design that doesn’t look cheap or flimsy. The charging case is solid, featuring a strong magnetic lid and hinge with no wobble or loose fit, a problem often encountered in this type of device.

Day-to-day, the earbuds are able to withstand multiple uses without faults, no loose parts, peeling materials, or fading logos after long-term use. The earbuds fit into the case rather tightly, and they are always charging after every docking process. The NDO earbuds are IPX7-rated, making them suitable for workout sessions, running, and gentle rains. It does not matter whether they sweat or splash, making them ideal for use when exercising in the gym or commuting on foot.

Note that they are not waterproof, though, so avoid dropping them in water or using them in the rain. The compact style, good battery life, and reasonable passive isolation make them a nice option for on-the-go or traveling headphones/earbuds. Their episode size makes them fit well in your pocket or bag, which makes their use in the real world even more convenient. Conclusively, NDO earbuds are rugged enough to withstand the normal wear and tear of everyday use, whether at work, at the gym, or on the road.

Who Should Buy NDO Wireless Earbuds?

NDO Wireless Earbuds are recommended for individuals who travel, work out at the gym, or simply need a reliable set of earbuds without breaking the bank. They are comfortable to wear, and their water resistance (IPX7) makes them suitable for use during exercise and outdoor activities. The battery will last a considerable amount of time; the noise-canceling feature will eliminate unnecessary ambient sounds, which is very useful in bus, train, or airplane settings. The balanced sound and impressive layer of clarity will satisfy you if you love listening to music or podcasts. The touch controls are intuitive and straightforward to use; thus, you do not need to learn something complex.

The earbuds may not be the ideal option for users who have high-quality sound requirements or those who have numerous options to configure in an app. Additionally, if you frequently make phone calls in noisy environments, the microphone may not perform adequately. It only has four points of connection (rather than being truly multipoint), which can be frustrating if you frequently switch between appliances, such as your phone and laptop. As a whole, they represent excellent value to the majority of users who require comfort, good sound, and handy features and are willing to pay a reasonable amount.

IPX7 rating
Quick pairing
Stable connection
Touch controls
Voice assistant

Cons

No app
Mediocre mic

Final Verdict

The NDO Wireless Earbuds manage to achieve a commendable ratio between price and quality. They offer features typically found in more expensive models, including active noise cancellation, a comfortable and ergonomic fit, good battery life, and responsive touch controls, all at a low cost. Sound is well-balanced, allowing them to be used with most genres, podcasts, and calls. Although not audiophile, they produce a pleasant and multipurpose playing experience for beginners. There are some trade-offs, however. A lack of a companion app, an inferior microphone, and the inability to pair with multiple devices may be inconvenient for sophisticated users. Nevertheless, they are reasonable sacrifices at this price level. Suppose you are a student, commuter, or just a casual listener. In that case, there is excellent value in NDO earbuds, particularly when you are looking for something practical, fuss-free, and that simply works.
