The packaging in trade dress is clean with a clear depiction of the earbuds and their key features and thus makes it visually appealing without too much clutter.

Unboxing & First Impressions of PearlClip Pro

The inner box will contain the PearlClip Pro earbuds that are snugly fitted inside the charging case, a USB-C charging cable, three pairs of ear tips for a customizable fit, and the user manual. The fact that they come with different sizes of ear tips allows them to fit all ear shapes and sizes.

Design & Comfort

To make these earbuds, matte, strong, and lightweight plastic is used because this material helps to prevent scratches and fingerprints and keep the earbuds lightweight but are heavier than Baseus Bass BC1, and these earbuds always look and feel new and clean. On the other hand, the same material is used to make the charging case as well, which gives the earbuds good protection and a classy look. Well, the clip-on design of the earbuds is something that really makes them stand out in the market.

Unlike typical earbuds, which just rest in your ears with silicone tips, they softly wrap around the concha, the inner part of your ear. These earbuds stay in your ear more firmly and comfortably, even when you are working out, and they do not even cause ear fatigue. Well, you can have classic black, navy blue, and pearl white colors in these earbuds. All these colors are available in a matte finish and give it a sleek and modern look.

design and comfort of SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro

If you are about to have an extended listening session, these are the best earbuds for you because they are very lightweight and their design is brilliant. While using these, you will not need to adjust the earbuds repeatedly. Additionally, the water resistance rating of these earbuds is IPX5, which means you can use them in light rain or a minor water splash.

This rating makes them perfect for handling sweating in a heavy workout session. But make sure you do not use them while swimming or bathing. In terms of comfort and style, these are the best earbuds for daily use.

Technical Specifications

Architected with 12mm bio-diaphragm drivers that work with a damping pack able to reproduce a neutral audio signature with powerful bass and quality mids. The drivers, aided by cutting-edge tuning, offer a vibrant soundstage with excellent genre ability that includes hip-hop to acoustic. The Bluetooth 5.3 device supports the earbuds, which provide high-speed and stable connections with limited latency. The codec support is wide, with AAC and SBC included, giving general compatibility with Android and iOS devices.

The bond is strong even in crowded wireless environments, such as a gym or a bus. Individual earbuds are battery-powered with 45mAh capacity and an additional 400mAh in the charging case. On a combined basis, the playable hours are up to 30 in total, and it can be charged with 6-7 hours. The earbuds have an approximate charge duration of 1.5 hours through USB-C. The case supports fast charging but not wireless charging. Individually, the earbuds weigh 5 grams each, and the case about 40 grams. They are pocket-friendly and easy to carry because they are compact.

Connectivity & Controls

It is very easy to use the PearlClip Pro earbuds because when you open the charging case and take the earbuds out of it, they automatically go into pairing mode and connect to the last paired device. You just have to connect these earbuds to your mobile phone for the first time, and after that, they will connect automatically. Unfortunately, you will not get the dual connection in the earbuds, and you cannot connect to two devices at the same time.

touch controls of SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro

However, you can enjoy multipoint connectivity, which means you can easily switch between two devices with its smooth Bluetooth connection. So whenever you disconnect the earbuds from one device, they will instantly connect to the other one. Each of the earbuds has a touch control system so that you can control your earbuds with a thoughtful touch. Here are some touch control instructions to operate your earbuds smartly:

Double-Tap: You can play or pause the music.
Long Press: Turn the ANC, Transparency, or Normal Mode on.
Triple Tap: Get the Voice Assistant service.

As mentioned above, if you want to activate the voice assistant service, simply tap three times on your earbuds. With the voice assistant services, you can make calls, check the weather, and perform many other activities without opening or using your phone. On the other hand, these earbuds have a companion application that allows you to perform different activities like adjusting the EQ, updating the firmware, altering the touch control, and switching between various modes like ANC or Transparency. However, the interface of the application is easy to use and simple, but in its advanced features, you may encounter some limitations.

Sound Quality

SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro has a balanced but vigorous sounding signature with V-shaped tuning, with the punchy bass and bright highs, and the mids are clear enough to produce the clarity of the vocals and instruments. The earbuds are thus ideal for the mainstream audience who likes to sound good without sacrificing overall clarity.

The PearlClip Pro does well with bass. The bass is nice and deep, with the 12mm dynamic drivers as in SoundPEATS Clear giving it a tight-knit yet powerful low-end presentation that is punchy. Sub-bass rumbles are deep without being muddy to the overall mix, and mid-bass frequencies have sufficient slam to provide energy to hip-hop, EDM, and pop tunes. The bass at high sound does not get distorted or overpowering, thus retaining its integrity. This thump will definitely satisfy bass heads, but the tuning isn’t bloated or overwhelming to more average listeners either.

The midrange is plenty clear, although, with the V-shaped tuning, a bit scooped out. Vocals are clean and pronounced, particularly in acoustic and pop songs. Such instruments as guitars and pianos preserve their natural sound without being too thin or too warm. In songs where the vocals are having to struggle with the heavy instrumentation, though, the mids may feel somewhat recessed. That being said, the mids do a good job in casual and everyday listening, providing sufficient presence that would not suppress the sound by either bass or treble.

Treble is clear and informative, and it adds some airiness to songs. Cymbals, hi-hats, and strings are reasonably well reproduced and add clarity to the sense of detail when hearing complex mixes. But as you turn up the volume, the treble may sound a little harsh or peaky in rare instances, particularly to people with high sound frequency sensitivity. It nevertheless introduces the much-needed contrast in the deep bass to make it feel more varied and vibrant in general, particularly within such genres as rock or classical, where treble detail counts the most.

Soundstage and Imaging

For closed-back wireless earbuds, the PearlClip Pro does an excellent job of creating a wide soundstage. With these earbuds, you can enjoy a sense of space in your music; you will feel that all the instruments are overwhelming, but you will enjoy them spreading out nicely. On the other hand, the imaging of the earbuds is also so impressive that you can enjoy the music in both your right and left ears or in the center. This will make your listening experience more enjoyable and immersive.

Genre Performance

The PearlClip Pro can work with most genres. Any bass-heavy compositions, such as EDM and trap, are bright, and pop and R&B appear to be dynamic and on point. Indie and acoustic also perform very well because of the clean mids. In classical and jazz, detail is adequate, where audiophiles may or may not find a slight treble harshness and mid recessiveness.

Active Noise Cancellation & Transparency Mode

These earbuds have the hybrid active noise cancellation mode, and their performance is outstanding for the price. In indoor settings, such as in an office or cafe, where there are no loud noises, it blocks out the low-frequency noises, such as people talking or the voice of the air conditioner. You can enjoy the music peacefully with these earbuds. Although these earbuds are not as strong as high-priced ones, such as Bose or Sony, they are strong enough to cancel background noises in day-to-day activities.

Well, when tested in the outdoor settings, the ANC mode of these earbuds works well. It eliminates the background voices to some extent, but not completely. High-pitched noises such as car horns and plane noises can still be audible, which keeps you in contact with the surroundings. The clip-on design of these earbuds is helpful to block the sounds, but it can not compete with the in-ear design.

SoundPeats PearlClip Pro also has the Transparency Mode, which works really well. Transparency mode performs well, and the sounds are clear and natural, and you do not have to remove the earbuds to hear your surroundings.

Transparency mode is perfect when you are cycling, walking on a busy road, or crossing a road because you stay aware of the environment and can stay safe. Although it’s not as good as the AirPods Pro, it’s still quite good considering the price. Like many other earbuds in this price range, the ANC can not perform well when it is windy outside. But soundpeats can reduce the noise of wind to some extent, so in light windy weather, you can talk comfortably. But if the wind is strong, then it is better to switch to the Transparency Mode.

Call Quality & Microphone Performance

call quality of SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro

The PearlClip Pro is good indoors during calls. The four-microphone configuration provides a straightforward voice pickup with minimum distortion. Sounds are natural, and there is no echo or muffling, even in long conversations. You can be on a phone call, a recorded voice memo, etc. The mic picks up your voice well enough. The sound might not be of studio quality, but it is reasonably sufficient to be used day to day in a non-noisy environment.

The quality of the call is quite good under outdoor conditions, but not perfect. The environmental noise reduction (ENC) helps reduce background noise and the sound of passing vehicles to a degree, though sharp sounds still break through. Even in busier places, your voice is not lost; a slight compression effect is experienced. It can be used on walking calls or the commute to work, etc., but in very loud environments, the performance is more average, so it cannot be used there.

Voice call latency is very impressive. Lag and delay are minimal, thus making conversation in real-time smooth. WhatsApp and Teams are VoIP (voice over IP) apps, which do not have sync problems. The inbuilt ENC algorithm in SoundPeats filters ambient noise decently well. It emphasizes the frequencies used by vocals so that your voice is able to sing out even without a lot of the hissing in the background. It does not sound perfect, but it works well on casual and work phone calls.

Battery Life & Charging Performance

The battery life of the Soundpeart PearlClip Pro is solid for everyday use. If you use the earbuds with the ANC mode turned on, the earbuds’ playback time is almost 5 hours on every charge. However, if you use the earbuds with the ANC mode turned off, then the expected playback time of the earbuds will be 7.5 hours. The battery drainage is very low, and the standby time of the earbuds is perfect.

battery life of Select SoundPeats PearlClip Pro Earbuds Review SoundPeats PearlClip Pro Earbuds

If left idle, the earbuds can hold a charge for multiple days when not used. When used along with the charging case, the battery life of the earbuds can extend up to 25-28 hours because the charging case can charge the earbuds for 2.5 to 3 times. The earbuds are pocket-friendly and compact, so you can easily carry them wherever you go. The charging case has an LED display of the battery, so you can easily check the remaining battery life.

These earbuds also support fast charging, and if you charge the earbuds for 10 minutes, you can have 1 hour of playback time. The earbuds charge fully in almost 1.5 hours, and the charging case takes 2 hours to charge fully.

Gaming & Latency Performance

As far as mobile gaming is concerned, the PearlClip Pro is rather decent for a mid-range pair of earbuds. When playing in casual games such as Clash Royale or Subway Surfers, there is hardly any latency. There is some audio lag detectable in more time-sensitive titles such as Call of Duty: Mobile or PUBG, but the lag is not too severe. When coupled with an Android device that supports aptX Adaptive latency, it is even more enhanced and can be played even in semi-competitive gaming. In video streaming, there is minimal drag.

gaming mode of Soundpeats PearlClip Pro

On such platforms as YouTube, Netflix, and Prime Video, content is compatible with visuals on both Android and iOS. It does not lack lip-sync, and there are no desync problems even in fast scenes. This renders the PearlClip Pro as a dependable means of viewing media on the move without disturbance. Soundpeats app with its dedicated Game Mode has very low latency when it is activated, as low as 60ms. It is a handy addition, which significantly tightens the audio response when playing a game in general, and in competitive shooters, in particular.

Final Verdict

The PearlClip Pro will appeal to those looking to spend as little as possible on ANC but have a good all-in performance with a comfortable and clip-on fit. It is an excellent option for commuters, gym-goers, or ordinary listeners who are looking for a reliable product at a fair price. These earbuds are an excellent fit if you want your calls to be crystal-clear, your battery to last, and the earbuds to be worn safely. Audiophiles or people who aspire to get top-tier ANC performance or have an app customization in any form could consider looking elsewhere. Similarly, gamers who require the lowest latency or people who wish to have wireless charging are advised to find alternatives.
