Soundcore, Anker Electronics’ audio subsidiary, has recently released several budget true wireless earbuds and has begun competing in the niche market. Anker P20i was one of the most recent tracks to come out in the spring of 2023 and has already become a hit. Based on their tests, I noticed they had good-quality sound, features, and design.
They only do something special, though you probably wouldn’t expect it at this price level. Nevertheless, in everything they promise, they do excellently. The sound quality is perfect; they are lightweight, and you have everything needed to listen to music or podcasts wirelessly. Moreover, it also has a game mode, which assists in reducing the latency of captured streaming video and gaming.
While not having extras such as multi-device and quick pairing, these buds are worth considering in case the ratio between their price and performance is something you keep your eyes on. The buds are offered with a comfortable and secure in-ear fit. In addition, they are rated IPX5 for water contact resistance, so that you can wear them during rain runs. Being lightweight and highly portable, they can be conveniently carried around.
Per the brand claim, you get 10 hours of battery life on a single charge with a case that adds up to 30 hours. When the true wireless earbuds run low on battery, a 10-minute fast charge allows you 2 hours of playtime. Two built-in mics and an AI algorithm cooperate to extract your voice from the conversation so you never have to be loud when talking on the phone.

Sound Quality
The sound quality of Anker P20i earbuds is perfect, redefining the wireless listening experience. Powered by precisely tuned drivers, they offer high-fidelity sound reproduction over a wide frequency range so you can appreciate the minor details in your favorite tracks in stunning clarity. Whether listening to complex melodies or pounding bass lines, the earphones remain realistic to the audio as they are digitally mastered, thus providing an immersive listening experience.
The P20i’s deep tones come amid the 10mm drivers that produce deep, rich, and highly satisfactory bass. The richer bass makes your audio more immersive, whether a dance track or a cinematic soundtrack.
Furthermore, the fantastic sound quality is well-balanced, and it’s not just about the bass. You can also experience it in the Anker Soundcore Liberty Air 2. Specific tuning of the drivers guarantees that all the elements of the audio spectrum, including the transparent highs and the lush mids, are stanchly reproduced with clarity and detail.
Such a balanced sound signature makes everything playback sound great, so you can listen to different kinds of music with clarity and punch. The Anker P20i goes beyond sound; it delivers truly immersive, involving, and unforgettable sound. Whether you listen to music, podcasts, or movies, its sound quality impresses the most discerning listener.

Playtime
An evaluation revealed that the Anker Soundcore P20i is remarkable in its robustness. It provides unparalleled, long-lasting battery life while delivering the best listening experience all day. The earphones offer an impressive 10 hours of playtime, which you can extend to 30 hours with the case, which is much better than the Anker Soundcore Spirit Dot 2.

The battery life was outstanding throughout my test period, providing a sense of dependability and durability that pumped me with confidence during periodical listening sessions. Be it listening to my favorite playlists, catching up on podcasts, or taking calls, the earbuds consistently kept up to their pledge of extended playtime without requiring frequent recharges.
This expanded playback is especially remarkable for those with hectic lifestyles and long commutes since it guarantees that the earpieces can keep pace with modern life’s demands without skipping a beat. Whether you are struggling through a gym workout, dealing with office work, or relaxing at home with music, the fantastic battery life of the P20i won’t let you down with constant audio and zero hassle.
Anker P20i establishes the standards in battery life of wireless earphones as their power capacity lasts longer than the level of expectations, and you don’t need to keep recharging them.
Fit and Comfort

While using them, users experience a mixed experience in terms of both functionality and comfort. They sit snugly and comfortably in the ears, providing a seal that holds even during movement. A guaranteed secure fit allows users to participate in different activities without worrying that the buds may become loose.
Yet, one must be careful about the fit-feel aspect. Despite proper ear seal functionality, the earphones will move slightly when a user smiles or makes facial gestures, which may occasionally require repositioning adjustments. Soundcore VR P10 is a better option if you want complete comfort.
The Anker P20i stems are outward and may not impress some users. Some might find the limbs overfitting into the face. In addition, a person with oversized ears could find it challenging to use the ear tips, as some may need to provide a tight fit.
However, although it provides a snug fit for many people, there are concerns regarding comfort and fit. They offer stability during movement; however, some users might find the fit slightly lighter. Therefore, users may need to adjust them for perfect comfort. There are better options for everyone with different sizes, especially those with giant ears requiring a more adjustable fit.
Touch Controls
The Anker P20i has a decent touch control scheme with all the functions you’d expect a pair of earphones to have in 2023, except for one: the volume control. It is one of the most basic touch control functions that most people, including me, want, and I have no idea why Soundcore has not included it in their default schematic, particularly when other functions are assigned to both left and right earbuds, which I think is redundant and meaningless.
Tap the buds on the Soundcore logo to achieve the touch controls. The controls are as tricky as any others at the onset, but they become easy to master once you get the hang of them. You can also reallocate the actions on the left or right earbud in the Soundcore app to be performed when you tap, double-tap, or hold the earbud.

Nevertheless, one can assign volume control to specific touch commands by the Soundcore app and remap the whole scheme as per his liking accordingly. The P20i controls have two features I always like to see: tracking and pausing, each with their beep sounds to acknowledge that the command was done, and the ability to track while paused (which also resumes track on the next/reset one).
You have to aim for the center of the back of the earbud on top to make it recognize touch gestures. Pushing the right spot with my finger was a bit hard, and sometimes, I failed to give my command. This may become normal to you, too. On the other hand, Soundcore Life A1 doesn’t support the app or separate buttons; thus, you must memorize the button presses to get started.
Connectivity and Pairing
The pairing and connectivity aspects of the Anker P20i are hassle-free and trouble-free. During setup, you can initiate pairing mode for the earbuds by taking them out of the case, which will automate the connection process. All users need to do is choose them from their Bluetooth menu, and they are ready to go. Contrary to the lowercase naming convention, hooking up to them is easy, and a seamless joining from wired to wireless is achieved.
Bluetooth 5.3 technology knows how to connect without fuss but offers more than you can get in Redmi AirDots 4 Pro. It boasts fast transmission speeds to enable quick and reliable connections. Whether you are in an area or moving between rooms, it sets a stable relationship and provides unstoppable audio playback. It lets users access their preferred content without worrying about connectivity or latency.

Beyond its initial pairing, it boasts reliable and convenient connectivity. After being connected, it automatically reconnects to the last synced device when removed from the case, sparing users the ability to re-establish the link every time. This increases usability and ensures uninterrupted daily use.
Its simple installation procedure and Bluetooth 5.3 technology deliver fast and solid connectivity under any conditions. Users can exploit the advantage of wireless listening without compromising reliability and performance.
Waterproof Rating
Having earned the IPX5 waterproof rating, the earbuds will perform well under light water jets from all directions, making them suitable for various environments. Often neglected but worth mentioning is that earpieces have IPX5 waterproofing. While the case is water resistant at the same level, users should avoid submerging it in water. Being resistant to light water jets, users do not have to fear water-related damage while in use.

Being IPX5-rated for such affordable headsets is a pleasant surprise. It gives its users an extra layer of security while wearing it when water contact is a worry. They will deal with light moisture without losing quality in outdoor activities when caught in the rain or at the gym when you are sweating. Such adaptability also makes them a de facto choice for active people.
Water damage protection renders Anker earpieces usable for long periods without fear of premature wear or faulty performance resulting from moisture exposure. It gives users a sense of assurance since their investment is made to be everlasting. The waterproof rating of the IPX5 is a distinct feature that increases its attractiveness and utility.
Noise Cancellation
The absence of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) in the Anker P20i may limit the users who want full isolation from the surrounding noise. However, it provides natural isolation but is only moderately effective, rating low to medium. Due to the high ambient noise level, the headphones can’t offer the desired peacefulness in noisy places like busy city streets or packed public transport.

P20i earphones function sufficiently for everyday commuting despite lacking active noise cancellation. They can provide enjoyable listening in quieter places or during intermediate noise levels without serious disturbance. Noise isolation will be acceptable for people whose primary purpose is to use them during commuting or in a relatively quiet environment.
Users must remember that noise-canceling capacity is more important in noisier environments. In environments where the noise level is high, such as busy cafes or crowded offices, the buds might be unable to block the undesired sounds efficiently. Thus, users can change the volume or find other ways to minimize external noise interference.
Although the Anker P20i earpieces do not have active noise cancellation, they come with passive isolation, delivering fair enough noise reduction for casual use. Although they won’t be the best in crowded environments, they represent a reasonable compromise between audio immersion and environmental awareness for those commuting daily or in relatively quieter situations.
Wireless and Fast Charging

Anker P20i headsets have the convenience of wireless charging compatibility, so that any Qi-compatible wireless charging pad can charge them. This feature makes the user experience more convenient as one no longer has to deal with the problem of tangled cords or spend time looking for a suitable charging cable. Wireless charging allows users to place their earbuds onto a charging pad, providing convenience to busy individuals.
They have a fast charging system to minimize listening time breaks. By only 10 minutes of charging, users have an additional 2 hours of power, ensuring smooth use even during time limitations. This quick charging feature will be most beneficial to mobile people who may need an instant power boost to find their buds ready for further use every day. Unifying wireless and fast charging features in the Anker P20i creates a portable and practical audio accessory for modern lifestyles.
They accommodate different charging methods, including wireless compatibility and fast charging, to fulfill the various user requirements. These charging options can keep the earphones fully charged in any location (at home, in the office, or on the go) without needing a traditional cable. With the most up-to-date charging technology, Anker’s buds have made them convenient and portable.
Whether listening to music, taking calls, or staying connected, users can depend on them to provide high-quality and fast-charging solutions that will take their listening experience to the next level.
