True wireless earbuds were the reason I am back in the fold of earbuds. Despite being derided by audiophiles, this type of headphone, the so-called wireless type with no cable connecting the earpieces or to the source, has made its way into consumers’ lives like few other audio products. Most famously, Apple AirPods were introduced in December 2016. The TOZO T12 has decent clarity, and I would rate it in the price range I’m looking for regarding earbuds. They can withstand water pressure of 8 meters and are hence IPX8 rated. Their battery performance is nothing to write home about, the integrated mic is below par, and their deep in-ear fit may not sit well with all.
We have previously covered a few of their buds, like the TOZO T6 and TOZO T10, but we usually had positive things to say about them. Today, we are going to review the TOZO T12 Earbuds. It is the brand's latest set of earbuds, and we were curious to learn how they would perform. In a few minutes, we will have an overview of all their properties and advantages. Following this, we will bring out a final judgment on the new dynamic duo of buds.
They are like any other wireless earbud since they have a two-part design. They include a pair of earbuds and a charging case to hold back them when they are not in use. Both are made from matt black ABS plastic. On a superficial level, a matte finish seems less desirable than a gloss finish.
Fingerprints gradually become less visible on the matte finish than the glossy one. Consequently, your buds and case can be easily kept clean, even when sweating during use. Their elevated sound signature gives additional bass, rumble, and roar, whereas vocals and lead devices are bright.

Design and Comfort
Earbuds weigh 1.5 grams and have a significant form factor but not an unpleasantly big version. They have ear fins that serve as extra protection outside your ear. They also have an in-canal design meant to sit deep in the ear canal. This guarantees not only a safe fit but also a watertight seal. It is essential because most wireless earbuds do not have active noise canceling. It helps sounds trying to get in from the outside, away from buds, and saves your listening pleasure. Indeed, you will require the proper set of ideas to get a sure and rigid fit.
The TOZO kit has three extra ear tips to ensure the best fit. Despite that, the ear fins are not sold separately. However, for most individuals, fit should be adequate. The back sides of the earbuds are slightly beveled, resulting in a visually clean fit.
The TOZO T12 case is a clamshell case with a spring-loaded lid. This lid won’t open in your pocket; even if that happened outside, it would be fine. When it is time to open the same, it is easy. It has a well-designed wide groove under the lid, making it easy to open using one hand. It is also quite a small thing, just bigger than two earpieces.
The buds fall into molded charging troughs; three contacts permit quick, jerk-free charging. You will notice an LCD indicator between the two wells and two battery meters for their left and right buds. There is also a percentage meter indicating the Charging Case’s charge level. A blue LED lights up on the front, charging the case.
Playtime
TOZO T12 has a solid structural design that provides the durability associated with daily use. TOZO has an advantage with a staggering 11 hours of playtime on earbuds alone and a remarkable 48 hours with the charging case. Nonetheless, our practical testing showed a more modest value of 5 hours and 58 minutes in one charge, unfounded by TOZO’s optimistic promises. However, they offer average playtime about what is expected in true wireless earbuds, enough to accompany you through your workout and journey to the office.
While 6 hours could match the industry average, the charging case can extend the purpose of T12 to provide a whopping 18-hour run without recharging. While the 1.5 hours of charge we managed to add was generally enough for most users, we had hoped for more; as a minimum, we wanted to add at least 25 hours of longer standby time. It would have been possible because of the improvements that are made in terms of battery technology in current times. However, the earbuds are trustworthy and will not disturb you with long-term charging breaks from your everyday activities.
Refilling the case is indeed a piece of cake, which provides an opportunity through two convenient alternatives. This can be achieved by users who prefer the USB Type-C cable that is plugged into either a USB Type-C port or an AC adapter. This approach makes a complete recharge available in about two hours, benefiting users from continuous undisrupted listening. Although there is a slight difference between the official and actual playtime, the TOZO T12 is still an admirable product with enough user-friendly functionality, including reliable durability like the TOZO T5 and simple recharging for active users.
Wireless Charging
From the design perspective, TOZO T12 brings a solid construction to the table; however, how much stress can they withstand before breaking down? TOZO declares that the earbuds can sustain 11 hours of continuous play between charges and some other stated time when using the charging case, up to 48 hours. However, the duration we recorded from our test was less than this by a few minutes; it recorded 5 hours and 58 minutes.
This is true even if this lies just within the average range for what is touted. They are wireless earbuds; it does not meet TOZO’s lampooned claims. However, it should still be enough for everyday use so that they will do just fine for training or traveling to work.
A charging case with a longer run of up to 25 hours would have increased the overall stamina. However, refilling the case is easy and possible in approximately two hours using either a USB Type-C cable attached to a USB port or an AC adapter. The TOZO T12 is one of the few notable aspects that support wireless charging. The case for wireless charging is evident, and a fascinating fact is its brief vibration when placed awkwardly on a wireless charger.
The wireless charging time changes based on charger quality and location, but users get a full charge after 3 hours on average. The wireless charging feature improves customer comfort, making it a welcome replacement for a cable-based charge. As much as the TOZO T12 may not fully live up to its specified playtime claims, the device’s ability to charge wired and wirelessly addresses different users’ needs.
Connectivity
The TOZO T12 earbuds offer flawless connectivity thanks to the incorporated Bluetooth 5.3 technology. After the initial pairing, the earbuds automatically connect, thus making the user experience more convenient. In addition, Bluetooth 5.3 provides high-bitrate audio like the TOZO A1 Mini Wireless Bluetooth Earphones, which ensures better playback for those who value the subtleties of higher-quality formats, such as 256k MP3s over 128k.
Besides better sound output, Bluetooth 5.3 offers a more reliable connection and no longer has to deal with sudden drops in the signal. The extremely low latency of the protocol makes it most suitable for movie watching; its ability to synchronize audio and visuals makes it a perfect match. The signal range is up to 33 feet, which makes the connectivity stable enough not to worry about the signal dropping out and ensures that the user can move freely during use.
One of the unique aspects of these T12 earbuds is the unique functionality of individual pairing, where you can pair each bud separately. Although there are better methods for listening to music, it provides some benefits available in other modes. First, it efficiently doubles the battery life, thus increasing the operational period with prolonged intervals. Secondly, the one-to-one mode aims to keep situational awareness, which is why it is suitable for calling with no hands.
You can activate the voice assistant with triple taps and control your device quickly while driving or doing other tasks. Being true to its Bluetooth 5.3 standing, TOZO T12 earbuds introduce a connectivity experience with the advantages of automatic pairing, high-bitrate audio support, reliable connections, and individual earbud pairing choices.
Cumulatively, these characteristics lead to an easy-to-use and multi-purpose connection portfolio that makes the earbuds fit for audio-oriented and hands-free uses.
Sound Quality
Within their class, the T12 wireless earbuds from TOZO are in a league of their own, providing an audio quality that truly speaks to the original audio with a powerful and wide range. With 10mm diameter big speakers and true wireless Bluetooth technology, these in-ears deliver crystal clear highs and powerful bass that can easily beat high-end headphones.
The T12 earbuds stand out from their rivals with the sound quality, given that they use great 10mm drivers, much more significant than many current 6mm or even 7 mm drivers found in most earbuds. Significantly, the bass delivers powerful punches without impinging on other frequencies but with the clean and clear mids that boost vocals; however, highs are present and have a shimmer, but at times, they do not have enough punch. However, the wide soundstage allows for a clear separation of instruments that do not interfere with each other. The wide range of gadgets has dual microphones that do not feature noise-canceling properties but can produce impressive results in controlled environments.
This solution, however, presents some challenges as the background noises remain a challenge to effective performance, but wearing two earbuds enhances overall performance. The nature of the call experience also depends on the audio equipment the other party uses, such as earbuds or headsets, which dictates how well you hear them while in a conversation.
Touch Control
In the TOZO T12 Wireless Earbuds, touch control buttons are installed, simplifying the device’s control. These responsive buttons’ functions include skipping tracks, playing or pausing music, answering or ending calls, and adjusting volume levels, giving users a higher quality user experience.
The soft-touch buttons allow for comfortable user interactions without discomfort, prioritizing the user’s convenience. Though the touch control system provides a variety of capabilities, some adjustments to dealing with this interface might seem problematic at first. Some controls are held for single or double tap, while others need static pressing. However, the fact that this learning curve makes sense is diminished over time and through practice. Through familiarity with the peculiar touch controls, the device becomes so natural that users find everything simple in navigating among its features.
The touch controls are subtle enough to benefit the user in navigating the audio playback and call options for function, offering a bit of mastery over the TOZO T12 earbuds like Redmi AirDots 3 Pro. Though there is some short-term adjustment time to get familiar with the touch controls, the comfort of operating them is instrumental to a flawless and pleasant experience. When learned, these controls form a core part of the earbud’s functionalities so that one can comfortably command the playback and communication features without strain with a few touches.
Waterproof Rating
The TOZO T12 earbuds have a water-resistant rating of IPX8; therefore, they can survive even in the most challenging environments. This rating means they are water resistant and can submerge in one meter of water for thirty minutes, giving users all the confidence and convenience associated with daily use. Whether you do the job being caught in the rain or want to listen to music when exercising, the earphone’s high resistance to water ensures that they are operational and safe.
Along with the help of these strong magnets that hinge the earbuds to the charging case, they add a protection layer and convenience. The buds, therefore, fluently integrate into the case, increasing their longevity and protecting them from natural elements. This detailed design aspect also helps make T12 resilient since it meets the needs of persons leading active lives. The T12’s waterproof nature and attention to detail that TOZO refers to highlight the company’s determination to deliver earphones that smoothly operate in various environments but never break down.
